The 12 Most All American Towns & Cities

Looking back on 2017, we wanted to thank the people who took the time to search for and purchase our products; supporting American jobs and valuing the quality and craftsmanship that comes with the “Made in the USA” label.

We gathered a list of where we shipped the most All American Clothing products per capita last year and are calling them our “Most All American” locations. Organized by population size, each category includes the top three towns or cities, and some of their own interesting histories and local American makers we should support, too:

 

Small Towns (population 1,000-10,000)

Langhorne, PA

Langhorne PALocated in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the borough of Langhorne is rich with American history and tradition.

Historic Fact: Before and during the Civil War, Langhorne was a station on the Underground Railway.

American Maker: Founded in 1930, family owned and operated Langhorne Carpet Company creates the finest quality carpets, which can be found in American embassies and even the White House. Every carpet is made in the company’s original mill in Bucks County.

 

Long Bottom, OH

Long Bottom lies alongside the Ohio River and was actually named for the river bottom.

Historic Fact: The town (and its Forked Run State Park, in particular) is now heavily forested but was once a primary source of timber fueling iron furnaces in the 1800s.

 

Woronoco, MA

The village of Woronoco is located within the town of Russell, Massachusetts.

Historic Fact: Woronoco was named after a local Native American tribe and was originally developed as a model company town for a paper factory.

 


Medium-Sized Towns (population 10,0001-50,000)

Falls Church, VA

Falls Church VAFalls Church earned its township status back in 1875 and is the smallest incorporated municipality in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

 

Historic Fact: The Falls Church, within the town of Falls Church, played an important role in the American Revolution. George Washington and George Mason were Falls Church vestrymen and the Declaration of Independence was read on the church’s steps in 1776.

 

Patchogue, NY

Just 60 miles east Manhattan, Patchogue became an incorporated village in 1893.

Historic Fact: From the late 1800s to the 1920s, bike riders on “Century Runs” would begin their 100-mile races in Brooklyn and use Patchogue as the turnaround point

American Maker: Ad Apparel offers American-made apparel and products. All embroidery, screen printing, and promotional items are made in the USA.

 

Morro Bay, CA

Morro Bay CANicknamed “The Gibraltar of the Pacific,” Morro Bay is a beautiful coastal town right on Highway 1 in Central California.

Historic Fact: Morro Bay was home to a World War II training base for the U.S. Navy.

American Maker: By the Bay Gallery has been in business for almost 30 years and sells a wide selection of American-made crafts and fine jewelry.

 

 


Large Towns (population 50,001-100,000)

Levittown, PA

Levittown is part of the larger Philadelphia metro area in southern Bucks County.

Historic Fact: Levittown was originally built in 1951 by Levitt & Sons real estate company as a complete planned community. The Levitt’s are credited as being the originators of the American suburb.

 

 

Sarasota, FL

South of Tampa on the Gulf Coast, Sarasota is known for its beaches and warm weather.

Historic Fact: Sarasota was the winter home of the Ringling Bros. Circus from 1927-1959.

 

Tinley Park, IL

Tinley Park ILA fast-growing suburb of Chicago, Tinley Park has been named as one of the “Best Places to Raise a Family in America.”

Historic Fact: Ironite, an additive for waterproofing cement, was invented in Tinley Park and then used to help construct the Hoover Dam.

American Maker: Bruske Products designs, engineers, and manufactures American-made floor care and specialty cleaning products.

 

 


Cities (population 100,001-500,000)

Dayton, OH

Dayton OHLocated in Montgomery County, Dayton is a central hub for the state’s manufacturing, shipping, and aerospace industries.

Historic Fact: The Wright Brothers were born in Dayton and the city is known as the “Home of Aviation” – you can visit several locations where the brothers tested their heavier-than-air, man-carrying flight machines.

American Maker: Esther Price Candies has been producing the finest chocolates since 1926, many still by hand and using Esther’s original recipes.

 

Saint Louis, MO

Sitting right on the banks of the Mississippi River, St. Louis can easily be recognized by its famous 630-foot Gateway Arch.

Historic Fact: In 1904, the city hosted the World’s Fair, which lasted seven months and was attended by nearly 20 million people, making it one of the largest spectacles in history at the time.

American Maker: Arizon provides top-quality HVAC and fabric building products, manufactured in the USA since 1921.

 

St. Petersburg, FL

Part of the Tampa Bay area, St. Petersburg is nicknamed “Sunshine City” and surrounded by welcoming gulf waters.

Historic Fact: In 1914, the St. Louis Browns held their first spring training in St. Petersburg and helped originate professional baseball’s famous Grapefruit League.
